Many people are not interested in history because they look back to former times for example that of the notorious King Henry the Eighth and  his six wives and cannot see any relevancy to the modern world. However, we view history as a chain of links which run from their inception up to the modern age,
Perhaps you have had a good career and own your own home. This would be as a result of the varying education acts and further training which purported to provide the labouring classes with the skills to master new technologies. Linked to this was the time when MPs were paid for the first time allowing men like Keir  Hardy and later Lloyd George to represent the working classes
Now although this may sound a bit dull we do have fun in our meetings so do come along and join us and find those links in our past.
