What is an interest group?

One of the strengths of the u3a is our interest groups. The u3a is an organisation where every member is a learner and every member is a teacher. Groups are hosted by members and meet in homes or a hall depending on size. We currently have about 20 groups.

How do I join a group?

Some of these groups may be full, but let our group co-ordinator know if you are interested in a particular group as it may be possible to start another. If you don't see the group you wanted, why not start one? Contact Brenda our group co-ordinator via our contact page.

How much does it cost?

Your u3a membership gives you access to all groups but each group is different. Some activities may incur a cost if they need to hire a hall or visit somewhere of interest but the majority of groups meet at a members home. Generally, groups are self supporting financially, and run themselves, but help is available via the group co-ordinator and committee
